American Book Fest announced that “DREAM LEADERS:  Insights on Community Service and Leadership by Thomas Smith (Alternate Publishing) has been honored as a Finalist in the 2017 International Book Awards (IBA) in the category of Anthology:  Non-Fiction on May 22, 2017

Thomas Smith’s dedication, leadership, and passion are shown in his thirty plus years of community engagement.  He has leadership achievements as a community service club leader, volunteer, and speaker.  He is a firm believer in giving back to others and believes that it is the most selfless gift you can give.  Thomas is passionate about helping others and in 2014 received the prestigious “Call to Service” Lifetime Achievement Award, a national honor to give Presidential recognition to individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to volunteer service and dedication to improving their community.  He is an award-winning author and has received many accolades and honors for contributions to his community.  He has served as club President and District Assistant Governor for Rotary International.  He has a strong interest in family genealogy and is a member of the Society of Colonial Wars, Sons of the Revolution, and Sons of the American Revolution.  He served as Chair and on the national Board of Directors for a national leadership conference.  Remaining humble, always honest, being optimistic, and leading by example are his core values.  He earned undergraduate degrees in economics and management and graduate degrees in administration and executive leadership.  In addition, after more than twenty five years in public service, Smith earned a graduate Certificate in Non-Profit Management at the University of Pennsylvania’s College of Liberal and Professional Studies
